Canadian winters are tough on everything — including your robotic mower. Proper winter storage ensures your MowBro is ready to go in spring.
When to Store
Once the grass stops growing (usually late October in most of Canada), it's time to bring your MowBro indoors.
Cleaning Before Storage
Give your MowBro a thorough cleaning before storing: - Remove and replace old blades - Clean the underside of all grass buildup - Wipe down sensors and charging contacts - Brush out the cutting deck
Battery Care
This is the most important part. Lithium-ion batteries don't like being stored at full charge or completely empty.
Charge the battery to approximately 50%, then disconnect. Check the charge level monthly during winter and top up if it drops below 20%.
Where to Store
Store your MowBro in a dry, temperature-stable location. A garage, basement, or heated shed works well. Avoid unheated spaces where temperatures drop below freezing.
Don't Forget the Dock
Bring the charging dock inside too. Disconnect the power adapter and store it with the mower. Leave the boundary wire in place — it's designed to withstand winter weather.
Spring Revival
When spring arrives, charge the battery fully, install fresh blades, set up the dock, and do a test run. Check the boundary wire for any winter damage before letting MowBro loose.
A few minutes of fall prep means a hassle-free spring startup.
