Setting Up Your MowBro: A Step-by-Step Guide

GuidesJanuary 2026 8 min read

Setting up your MowBro is straightforward. This guide walks you through every step, with tips from experienced MowBro owners.

Before You Start

Charge your MowBro fully before beginning setup. While it charges, plan where you'll place the charging dock and map out your boundary wire path.

Step 1: Place the Charging Dock

Find a flat, level spot near an outdoor power outlet. The dock needs about 30cm of clearance on each side. If possible, place it under a slight overhang for weather protection.

Pro tip from Mike T. (Calgary): "I put mine against the house wall under the eave. Stays dry and out of the way."

Step 2: Lay the Boundary Wire

Starting from the dock, lay the boundary wire around your lawn's perimeter. Use the included pegs every 50-75cm to secure it.

Keep the wire 30cm from walls, fences, and flower beds. This gives MowBro room to turn without bumping into obstacles.

Pro tip from Sarah L. (Ottawa): "I did the boundary wire with a friend — one person walked and the other pegged. Took 30 minutes."

Step 3: Connect to the App

Download the MowBro app, create an account, and connect via Bluetooth. The app walks you through initial calibration.

Set your mowing schedule, adjust cutting height, and you're done.

Step 4: First Run

Let MowBro do a full initial mow. Stay nearby to watch for any boundary issues. Adjust the wire if needed.

After the first run, you're set. MowBro will handle everything from here.
